HSBC Bank Plc offers a complete range of personal, premier and private banking services including bank accounts and mortgages for those people living and working in the UK. We also provide commercial banking for small to medium businesses and corporate and institutional banking services. HSBC Bank plc is a wholly owned subsidiary of HSBC Holdings plc.

With over 15 million customers in the UK it is the most recognised and trusted financial services brand. It has around an 18% market share of the UK's small business accounts and a 12% share of current accounts.

HSBC takes its name from the founding company, the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and was created in 1865 to finance trade between China and Europe. In the UK, Midland Bank, which merged with HSBC in 1992, was founded in Birmingham in 1836.

The modern day HSBC has its headquarters in a purpose-built property at Canary Wharf in London. It is the largest single use office building in the UK providing a base for 8,500 of its 52,000 UK based employees. It has around 1,275 branches across the country and serves its customers round the clock through 24 hour call centres and online banking services.

HSBC Group is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, comprising around 8,000 offices in 87 countries and territories in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa.

  • HSBC's most remote ATM is in Cemaes Bay, Anglesey which has a round trip of nearly 5 hours to attend from the nearest depot
